Paul J Ralph, FRSA

Blindly Wheeling • Writer of inclusive tourism stories that stick

Access, inclusion, and stories worth keeping.

I’m Paul Ralph, a writer who explores places as a wheelchair user and turns real world access into practical, human stories.

These days I’m reaching retirement and settling into life in the Black Country, which means more time to visit places, write, and capture the little moments that turn into lasting memories.

History, stories, and the joy of being able to get close enough to feel part of it.

Who I am

Blindly Wheeling is my home for writing about travel, heritage and everyday adventures. You know the kind that involve great people, surprising places, and often a very serious commitment to cake.

I write for people who want accessibility to feel like welcome: venue teams, visitor attractions, tourism folk, and anyone who cares about experiences being genuinely open to everyone.

What I write

My writing blends lived experience with practical takeaways. It’s not “access theatre” as it’s the real stuff: what works, what doesn’t, and how to make the experience better without sucking the joy out of it.

  • Books: practical, story led guides on inclusive tourism and visitor experiences.
  • Blog posts: reflections from visits posted on LinkedIn. What made it work, and what got in the way.
  • Short pieces: punchy insights you can use straight away and hopefully enjoy reading.

How to contact me

The easiest way is email. If you prefer LinkedIn, that works too.
